what is 'fit for 55'?
With the "Fit for 55" package, the EU is aligning its climate, energy and transport legislation with its 2030 and 2050 ambitions.
The Fit for 55 package is a set of proposals to update EU legislation and align EU policies with the climate objectives agreed by the Council and the European Parliament.
To achieve those goals, the package aims to provide a coherent and balanced framework that:
- ensures a fair and socially equitable transition
- enhances the innovation and competitiveness of EU industry and ensures a level playing field with third-country operators
- reinforces the EU's leadership in the global fight against climate change
what is the difference between breeam assessor and a breeam ap?
Although a person can be both a BREEAM AP and a BREEAM Assessor, there are subtle differences. A BREEAM Assessor has extensive knowledge of BREEAM and BREEAM credits. He or she can come into your project and provide an independent, credible assessment of the current state of your building in line with BREEAM criteria. They can provide this in the form of a report, which you can then use for your formal assessment.
However, they cannot provide actual design advice for the project. This is where a BREEAM AP comes in. A BREEAM AP not only has a detailed understanding of BREEAM standards, but also has experience in building, design and sustainability, and can provide holistic guidance on everything needed to achieve a positive BREEAM score.
